Dermal Fillers

dermal fillers

At Healthy for Life, we offer a comprehensive slate of products to help you look and feel younger and more beautiful. We administer the most cutting-edge skincare solutions available, using state-of-the art technologies, including injectable dermal fillers and Microneedling. These non-invasive procedures provide the safest, most efficient ways to restore youthful beauty and combat the signs of aging.

As we age, our skin starts to show the signs of time. It is exposed to damage from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays and free radicals, while the production of two essential proteins, collagen and elastin, slows down in our bodies. Since collagen and elastin are responsible for skin volume, strength and elasticity, their breakdown leads to sagginess, volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles. Coupled with damage from the sun and free radicals, you have a recipe for older looking skin. If you smoke or indulge in an unhealthy diet, the effects are amplified. Dermal fillers and Microneedling offer safe, effective solutions for restoring the signs of aging.

Whether you want to smooth out your forehead, add volume to under-eye hollows, sculpt fuller cheekbones or plump up your lips, we can provide a safe, nonsurgical solution. You will leave our office looking refreshed and rejuvenated—and feeling more confident than ever.

Dermal Fillers and Their Different Uses

Dermal fillers are ideal for restoring volume to the face, smoothing wrinkles and preventing future signs of aging. These injectable treatments also reduce the appearance of acne scars and can replace and add volume to the lips. Some of the dermal fillers we use promote the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in our bodies.

Our physician and skin care experts administer an array of FDA-approved fillers, including Botox, Juvederm, Voluma, Radiesse and Kybella. This variety of injectables makes it possible to customize treatments for your individual needs. Results are immediate and the procedures require no downtime, with results lasting between six months to over a year, depending upon the treatment.

Botox

Botox is a popular injectable treatment that temporarily reduces the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, known as the “Elevens,” forehead “frown” lines and Crow’s Feet. It is also used to restore symmetry, lift the brow area and smooth wrinkles in the lip and neck areas. Treatments consist of injection of botulinum toxin medication into the muscles, effectively weakening the underlying muscle, so that it temporarily will not contract to form deep lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a gel dermal filler composed primarily of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts and stores moisture. This unique injectable reduces the appearance of severe wrinkles and folds, restores volume and boosts hydration. Juvederm is commonly used to plump up cheeks and address volume loss in the lip and chin areas. It is also very useful for reducing the lines of aging that we seen in the lower half of the face, the so called “marionette lines” and nasiolabial folds. It has an extremely soft consistency that makes it an excellent option for lip injections.

Kybella

Kybella offers a revolutionary way to diminish the dreaded “double chin,” also known as “chin fat” or “the wattle.” Composed of deoxycholic acid, this potent injectable breaks down fat and eliminates it over time. Patients experience permanent fat loss in the area treated, resulting in a sleeker jawline and beautifully redefined profile. We are also using Kybella to treat other discreet pockets of fat such as the lower belly, bra fat, above the knees and sometimes the inner thighs.

Voluma

Voluma is a smooth gel composed of hyaluronic acid that was the first to receive designation by the FDA as a cheek filler. This formula is injected into the cheeks to boost volume while restoring firmness and plumpness. Voluma injections lift and contour the face beautifully, smooth skin texture and impart radiance for a younger looking appearance,

Radiesse

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are injected into the skin to smooth wrinkles, restore volume and boost collagen production. It’s an ideal option for addressing the folds and wrinkles that occur in the nasolabial folds, as well as “laugh lines,” “frown lines” and “marionette lines.” Areas treated with Radiesse feel soft and have a very natural appearance. While others collagen fillers dissolve more rapidly over time, Radiesse treatments have been shown to last between a year and two years, depending on the amount of movement that takes place in the area treated. Some have experienced results lasting as long as three years.

Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, uses fine needles to create hundreds of tiny punctures in the skin’s top layer. These tiny wounds stimulate the body’s natural healing process, which helps reduce the signs of aging. This painless, non-invasive procedure promotes cell turnover and boosts collagen and elastin production to restore the skin’s elasticity. Microneedling also reduces fine lines and deep wrinkles, reverses sun damage, decreases hyperpigmentation, repairs scars, shrinks pores and improves absorption of skin care products to maximize their results. It can be performed on any area of the face and body.
